New Marcasite Heart Watch

I don’t think ive had a review of a cool designer watch here on aces yet but since so many of todays timepieces are classed as Jewellery i think its about time. This Marcasite Heart Jewelry Watch really does look quite special as the individual links all look really unique from every angle.

The colors also stand out in a really striking way as the ruby reds mix with the exotic silver. One thing it does make me think about is how few really great designer watches we have seen over the last few years. I know we have the occasional outings from Gucci and Armando now and again but to be honest very few of the big designers have made anything that memorable in recent years.

Still if you are looking for something really stylish and want to be a bit more functional than a bracelet then check out their site here.

Speaking of being stylish, lots of people have been talking about ShoeDazzle, a new shoe club started by fashion celebrity Kim Kardashian who is also quite fond of Silicone Wristbands which i think proves my point that shes more plastic than human.

Simmons Jewelry pinch a penny

I really love the off the wall ideas we seem to get from Simmons Jewelry as they always seem to come up with something a bit different and wacky. This new necklace charm is really cool as it gives a whole new meaning to the term “pinch a penny”. Really stands out and looks a cool kind of weird at the same time. Reminds me a lot of those old jewelry gift boxes i used to see in antique stores for some reason, must be the 1920s silver.

Miniature paintings as a necklace

So as you know im always looking for something a little bit unique here on acesup and i think these miniature necklace paintings fit the bill perfectly. Each necklace has a small 4×4 unqiue hand created painting on it using a silkscreen process.

There are a lot to choose from but they are all in the same style/shape so i think about 3-4 is the max anyone is going to buy. Also they are quite cheap so going to be idea for anyone looking for a great bespoke piece to give themselves that bit of individuality they crave.

Also must be a great conversation starter that you have a hand drawn painting around your neck? Maybe not lol! I must also mention before i go that if you are looking for somewhere to store your jewelry check out Jewelry Boxes and Boxes a new site ive just found which has some great pieces.

Aquamarine spring collection

I don’t think ive ever had any real oceanic inspired jewellery here at acesup but i have to say that this new collection from aquamarine is really quite inspiring. The deep and light blues go so well that its opened my mind to what’s really possible with these new coloured gems.

One of the biggest problems though with blue gems is what metal do you pair it with. Gold is obviously out in most occasions so it usually ends up as silver. I am a fan of silver but i think it can look too understated in some occasions (this one). Though i do suppose it depends on what you are looking for, do you want to stand out from the crowd or fade into the wallpaper? I think its an easy answer!

A family tree around your neck

The name doesn’t actually sound that appealing does it but it’s actually a really cool idea. Sarah Van Gameren has decided to put her full family tree into silver and make it into a really great necklace and also a really unique one.

Best thing about it is that from a distance it looks like any other string necklace but up close the detail really comes alive as you can see all the different names. A very unique idea, i wonder if she does custom orders?!

New amber jewellery from the Baltics

So i thought i would take some time to post about this fantastic new Amber jewellery I’ve just spotted from a company called Balticamber.com who seem to be quite new but are also offering some great deals on this stone.

First thing for those who don’t know (me included) is that all Amber is classified into 3 main times (1a, 1b,1c). The class defines mainly where the Amber comes from but also the quality which as you can guess is really important.

One thing i have always thought about Amber is that it can look quite dated if not paired with the right design. I do however like the gold pairing here on the rings but im much more impressed with the silver on the necklaces as it looks much more modern and clean. Its weird the way a great design can make even the most traditional stones look so much more modern. Hopefully BaltiChamber will be producing some more designs later this season as i really love what they have done so far.

Classic Gold chain makes a comeback

Its been a while since ive seen a really great classic Gold chain that made me sit up and take notice but i think this one from the Metropolitan Museum Store is something a bit special. One of the biggest problems ive always had with finding a really cool designer gold chain is finding the type that doesn’t look tacky or too gauche. Often they are just big lumps with little or no unique features or detail to give them any personality.

However it is worth looking around as this 36” necklace does look quite stunning and the price is also quite good as its only $500. Given the current skyrocketing price of gold i think this is a really great deal for anyone who is looking for that timeless accessory. Check out their site when you get a chance as they have some other bargains on there too.

Seashell Bracelet from ismoshka

I really love this new “seashell” bracelet from ismoshka as its just so big and flashy but still understated at the same time. One thing i notice about the new breed of arm accessories is that they are designed to look more like they are just hanging off your arm as opposed to being strapped on. I suppose its the whole casual look we are starting to see and the ultimate try without trying thing that seems be going on lately!

New Echo of the Dreamer range inspired by earth

I really love the new Echo of the Dreamer range as it has something just a little bit strange but also special about it. The colours also seem to hark back to a different age as i cant help but think of 60s couture when i look at the green spirals on the main broche rings.

Still its always nice to have some vintage jewellery now and again with all the modern stuff floating around. Other thing i to note is the main inspiration for this collection is materials from the earth which is suppose isn’t that original as im sure its been done before. Still there are a lot of different themes in the collection from amber to glass, your bound to find something that fits your specific style.
